The Pacific Island Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA), established in 1979 and funded by the United Nations, comprises 17 member states. This organization plays a pivotal role in aiding Pacific nations in sustainably managing their tuna fisheries within their 200-mile Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ), collectively valued at over $3 billion annually. Additionally, the FFA serves as an advisory body, offering expertise, technical assistance, and support to its members as they make sovereign decisions regarding their tuna resources. Members also engage in regional decision-making processes through entities like the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC).

In 2020, the FFA approached our team to design and implement an IT infrastructure solution for their new facility in the Solomon Islands. We seized the opportunity to tailor the best-fit IT solution to the organization's needs and objectives. The organization sought a dependable partner to furnish both software and hardware for their IT infrastructure, tailored to their specific requirements. Our primary challenge lay in devising a comprehensive design based on our client's input to cover the entirety of the building's IT infrastructure. DiGiCOR undertook the design of all hardware components, encompassing Firewall, Switches, WiFi Access Points, VMware non-HA Servers or VMware HA Servers, Backup Servers and Storage, SAN, UPS, and Rack. Furthermore, we seamlessly integrated our design with licensed software, including VMware vSphere, Veeam Pro, Bitdefender, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Ensuring a rational price tag was a key consideration in selecting the most suitable solutions for their IT infrastructure. Thus, a critical aspect of our design process involved addressing concerns related to the location of the new building that led to careful consideration of the delivery process, system integration, installation, and testing for all hardware and software components.

How We Helped:

We had several meetings and discussions with the clients and were able to generate and optimise two high-quality solutions that meet the requirements, within the designated budget. Our expert team provided a turnkey solution for our client’s new building IT infrastructure, including all the required hardware, software, and licences with a 3 years RTB standard warranty which is shown in the infrastructure propose network diagram.

As a result, the client chose a solution that utilized VMware HA servers. The diagram shows how the network system is working with the integration of all components, including Switch (SW), Firewall (FW), Access Point (AP), Virtualisation Server (ESX), Infotrend Storage and Licensed Veeam Backup & Additional DC Server. The whole system has redundancy to make sure it will work well when network problem occurs. In addition, unstable internet connection and power outage made us to provide unit power supply (UPS) as a solution.

Furthermore, we were able to come up with a solution to integrate and install all the hardware and software components that is safe during the shipping progress. In addition, we also helped the client with professional services and personnel who provides professional advice for the test procedures remotely.
