Environment Policy

DiGiCOR’s mission is to provide organisations with IT solutions that utilise the latest technologies; we serve as an intermediary between consumers and manufacturers who facilitate the movement to a sustainable future. DiGiCOR will assist this by sourcing from sustainable vendors.

DiGiCOR recognise four areas of caution in our journey for environmental sustainability; Partner, Procurement, Carbon Footprint, and Recycling. Whilst, measures are in place to ensure these areas are being addressed amidst our business operations, DiGiCOR acknowledges that there is always room for improvement. Currently, our partner’s sustainability policies are in line with our mission, we acquire their products in an environmentally friendly manner, we utilise solar energy as a means to reduce our carbon footprint and we also engage in recycling programs to ensure appropriate disposal of electronic products.

Partners

DiGiCOR is proud to collaborate with organisations that understand the importance of green business practices. Our primary supplier, SUPERMICRO, is at the forefront of green IT innovation, offering resource-saving architectures that significantly lessen the environmental impact of technology. Intel, another key partner, has made substantial contributions to water conservation. They have set ambitious goals to achieve net-positive water use by 2030, investing in projects that reduce water usage and enhance water reuse and recycling. Together, these efforts underscore our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

All DiGiCOR partners practice environmental sustainability, further information regarding a few of our partners and their environmental practices can be found on their policy pages at:

Procurement

DiGiCOR is committed to sustainability in its acquisition and dispatching of goods, ensuring that these processes are managed by organisations that prioritize environmental responsibility. We have established a procurement strategy that involves sourcing from sustainable vendors and partnering with shipping companies that align with their mission for a greener future.

Carbon Footprint

DiGiCOR is conscious of the effects of carbon emissions; whilst we may be a fractional contributor, we strongly believe all organisations bears the responsibility to mitigate their environmental footprint.

In a proactive move towards sustainability, DiGiCOR installed over 100 solar panels on our premises in 2019. This strategic initiative has enabled us to harness solar power extensively, to the extent of contributing surplus energy back to the grid during weekends. Our office design incorporates skylights to maximize natural lighting, complemented by energy-efficient LED lights for additional illumination needs.

Furthermore, we maintain a consistent indoor temperature of 23 degrees Celsius year-round. Our air conditioning system is fine-tuned for energy conservation, programmed to deactivate at 4 pm on weekdays. Should it be utilized beyond this time, it is designed to shut off automatically every hour. The robust insulation of our walls and roof plays a pivotal role in maintaining stable indoor temperatures, largely unaffected by external weather conditions, thus enhancing the efficiency of our climate control systems.

Recycling

A major point of caution in DiGiCOR’s sustainability analysis is waste management. In this industry, it is fundamental that all organisations are practising healthy waste disposal methods. We cooperate with Sims Metal to regularly participate in metal recycling, Sim Metals is an industry leader in correctly recycling and reselling metals. This ensures a sustainable cycle for our waste metals.

About paper recycling; we utilise technology to reduce our paper consumption, however, we still do have paper bins around the office which are emptied into a recycling bin weekly.

The Future for DiGiCOR

Words from the CEO

“DiGiCOR intends to provide solutions for future technological complexities by establishing fundamental sustainable business practices. I see beyond the bottom line, I believe DiGiCOR has an important role to play in ensuring a future that is sustainable”

1. Integrating technology is of great importance at DiGiCOR, soon the office aims to eradicate paper.

2. Technology developing at an exponential rate gives hope to DiGiCOR. We aspire to soon be able to expand our solar operation, allowing them to move to an entirely solar-based office.
