The company was operating on VMware ESX for server virtualisation for their production and operations. Their hardware was becoming outdated relative to their software, as was the updated version of the ESX 6.7. With their past hardware being from Dell, tier 1 could not offer what the company needed in terms of hardware and infrastructure compatible with their software requirements.
They required a solution that was highly compatible with their updated software for VMware ESX with specific performance requirements, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We provided a Supermicro 4U Dual Socket server fitted with Intel Xeon Scalable Gold 5220R processors and 756GB RAM, compatible with NVMe and SSD for virtualisation applications. This solution was recommended as a solution for the company as it was fully compatible with the company’s VMware ESX hardware requirements to optimally provide virtualisation with the latest technologies, compared to tier 1 providers being incompatible with their environment. Furthermore, upon this hardware solution, we were able to provide a further 5-year NBD on-site support to the company as an ease-of-mind service for any unforeseen circumstances.
