Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP)

Enterprise-Grade Data Resilience for Any-Sized Business

Every data protection capability you need, without the complexity you don’t.

What Is Arcserve UDP?

Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) software delivers an all-in-one data protection solution that helps you comprehensively retain, back up, and restore your data.

Why Choose a Digicor Arcserve UDP Bundle?

Combine the benefits of Arcserve UDP data protection with the reliability and performance of a Digicor server hardware platform.

Protect your company’s business systems and data from attacks or loss. Deliver increased data resilience enabled by simplified processes across all storage platforms, whether local, virtual, or cloud:

  • Secure All of Your Data
Protect against data loss and extended downtime across cloud, local, virtual, hyperconverged, and SaaS-based workloads.
  • Minimise Downtime
Reduce your downtime from days to minutes, and validate recovery time and point objectives (RTOs/RPOs) and service-level agreements (SLAs) with automated testing and granular reporting.
  • Restore Across Workloads
Restore faster with instant VM and bare metal recovery (BMR), local and remote virtual standby, application-consistent backup and granular restore, hardware snapshot support, and extensions delivering high availability and tape support.
  • Optimise Operations
Enjoy management flexibility with either a multitenant, cloud-based management console or a private management console to suit operational needs. Accelerate time-to-value without the need for extensive training or costly professional services. Deploy in minutes and reclaim up to 50 percent more time.

How It Works

Enable unified management for your whole data protection infrastructure, from primary and remote sites to disaster recovery sites and the cloud.

  • Secure Your Most Valuable Data
Deliver a wide range of backup and restore capabilities, from instant VM and virtual standby to bare-metal recovery and tape backup.
Compatible with most leading hypervisors and storage options. Supported by global deduplication that significantly cuts required bandwidth.
  • Enable Data Resilience for Branches and Offices
Enable workstation and remote office protection, with support for P2P migration and the same flexible backup and restore options as your primary site for all types of workloads (cloud, virtual, physical, hyperconverged).
  • Streamline Recovery Operations
Create a robust plan for disaster recovery, using Arcserve UDP as the technical backbone.
Automated disaster recovery testing, remote virtual standby, NDMP backup, and other features enable your organisation to maintain business continuity no matter the circumstances.
  • Use Cloud as the Source or as the Destination
Deep cloud integrations deliver ultimate flexibility with Arcserve UDP. Scale up, scale out for public and private clouds.
Use Arcserve UDP on-prem, as well as in Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, VMware, Wasabi and more for on-prem-to-cloud, cloud-to-on-prem, and cloud-to-cloud backup with deduplication.

How Does Arcserve UDP Ensure the Safety and Security of Data?

Arcserve UDP allows you to safeguard cloud, virtual, physical, and hyperconverged workloads with block-level, infinite incremental backups and agentless backups for VMware and Hyper-V. Safeguard data in-flight and at rest with built-in AES/SSL encryption and ensure security with role-based administration.

How Does Arcserve UDP Enable Fast Recovery?

Recover faster with instant VM and bare metal recovery (BMR), local and remote virtual standby, application-consistent backup and granular restore, hardware snapshot support, and extensions delivering high availability and tape support.

Which Management Capabilities Are Available in Arcserve UDP?

Quickly deploy and orchestrate all capabilities with one web-based UI. Scale easily with policy-based management. Automated DR testing and SLA reporting keeps stakeholders informed with RTO and RTA (actual) comparisons.

Which Cloud Services Does Arcserve UDP Support?

Arcserve UDP can be used with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, VMware, NTT Enterprise Cloud, and other major providers. Arcserve UDP also supports multiple cloud storage options as the destination, including Amazon S3, Nutanix, Wasabi, and more.

Socket-Based Licenses

A socket-based license allows you to protect a physical computer and an unlimited number of virtual machines on the same computer.
The number of socket-based licenses should be equal to the number of populated CPU sockets in the system, with an unlimited number of cores per CPU socket included.
With socket-based licensing, a socket is a populated Physical Processor (CPU) located on the device/hardware being protected.
For example, Server A, running one quad-core CPU installed in a single physical CPU socket, will only require one socket-based license. Server B, running two dual-core CPUs installed in two physical CPU sockets, will require two socket-based licenses.
There is no limit on the “cores” (the logical microprocessors in a physical microprocessor) per socket. An empty socket without a processor does not require a per-socket license.
A socket license is also required for the protection of any number of shares per NAS device.
