Recognized widely as a leading local server and storage specialist in Australia and New Zealand, Digicor offers world-class open-standard hardware platforms and the enterprise-class support Nexenta's customers demand.
Nexenta is the industry's only storage vendor truly delivering on the message of Software-defined Storage (SdS). With more than 5,000 customers and more than 50,000 deployments to date — including four of NetApps top 10 customers, Nexenta has been named the fastest growing storage company ever. Nexenta's flagship product, NexentaStor, helps organizations implement high-perfomance yet cost-effective data storage solutions by taking advantage of features such as inline deduplication, unlimited snapshots and cloning, hardware-agnostic solutions, and high availability support.
Other Nexenta products — like NexentaStor Plug-ins to enable an NFS global namespace or archive data to an Amazon, Google, or OpenStack cloud — and the recently released NexentaVSA for View — co-developed with VMware for simplicity and calibration of VDI deployments — are evidence of Nexenta's commitment to use its software model to address the real needs of its enterprise-class customers.
High Availability (HA) Cluster
The HA Cluster eliminates, as a single point of failure, the NexentaStor instances themselves. The HA Cluster enables two NexentaStor instances to be configured as an active / active pair. At the same time, along with another NexentaStor instance, it provides high availability for shared storage accessible from both appliances.
The storage jointly managed via HA Cluster is configured as shared storage. You can establish RAID and replication policies to protect the data itself in a number of ways with the aid of NexentaStor.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
NexentaStor combines unlimited full or incremental snapshot capabilities with unlimited cloning. Software RAID solutions can be implemented by most operating systems as a component of the file system (i.e., ZFS), thereby providing a single virtual device. Mirroring is the replication of logical disk volumes onto separate physical hard disks in real time so as to ensure continuous availability—in short, extra safeguards via data replication. In addition, NexentaStor provides clustering capabilities, which enable an HA cluster to connect geographically separated nodes, providing significantly greater data protection, along with cost reductions, when compared with legacy systems.
NexentaStor also includes Auto-CDP (Continuous Data Protection), which provides block-based replication that optimizes recovery point objectives (RPO), recovery time objectives (RTO), and backups. Auto-Sync replicates files between two different NexentaStor appliances, asynchronously. And Auto-Tier creates a directory for copied folders to and from appliances. And with synchronized data replication with inline deduplication, data is scrubbed before transfer, thereby creating only one transfer and lowering the total volume of data sent by significant amounts.
NexentaStor, with Metro Cluster functionality, enables administrators to replicate data between two geographically separate nodes, providing improved protection against disasters while maintaining business continuity.
Nexenta storage solutions deliver unparalleled flexibility in supported hardware, software, and applications, thereby freeing companies from the high cost of vendor lock-in. Nexenta does this with:
- Auto-Sync: re-creates source snapshots (data and metadata) at the destination (asynchronous)
- Auto-CDP: provides remote mirroring capabilities (synchronous)
- RAID (software): redundant array of independent disks provides protection from single or double disk failure
- Mirroring: data written to two duplicate disks simultaneously to prevent data loss or service
No business is immune to disaster or downtime. And every business, regardless of size, is obligated to have some level of disaster recovery in place to ensure ongoing business commitments and competitiveness within the marketplace. NexentaStor provides all the power of enterprise-class, disk-to-disk backup applications, and it delivers the flexibility and control that is expected by both IT and end users. NexentaStor simplifies IT’s task by extending the benefits of open storage to open backup and disaster recovery.
